Paul KeckIey recently published a fascinating article in the Keckley Report.  In it, he explores how Americans have recognized the importance of wellness and ‘healthiness’ (and contrasts it against their disappointment in the reactive system of healthcare that’s in place).

Yet in spite of this awareness, Keckley notes that American wellness is actually on the decline:

“In the past 10 years, the prevalence of adult obesity has increased 17% to 31% (National Center for Health Statistics) and our level of stress has increased 23% to 6.2 on a 1-10 scale (APA Stress in America Survey). Our smoking rate is down but death by suicide or drug overdose are up.”

Paul goes on to discuss how employers are stepping-up to bridge the gap with wellness programs that generate a 3:1 ROI – and have an increasing focus on chronic disease.

This is exactly what we at SentryHealth have been doing for the past 6 years!
